The dreamlike story of characters who find themselves confronted with trials and tribulations that will lead them to build themselves little by little and allow them to forge their character today.
This choreographic piece for 3 dancers will take the form of a real travel diary.
To nourish this creation, Brahim rubs up against the universe of object theater and puppetry. Another form of expression, another method that he wishes to associate and confront in this collective research on movement and space.
It is Denis Bonnetier who will allow him to compose this double score. Founder and artistic director of Zapoï, a puppet company for young audiences based in the Valenciennes region, Denis' mission will be to train dancers in the manipulation of puppets and objects during research laboratories, the idea being that this work be completely coordinated with the dancer's movement.
Thanks to the intervention of figures that will be used and circumvented for narrative purposes, they will work on the different levels and readings of this choreography and this staging. The presence of these plastic entities at different scales, created by Polina Borisaova, and their setting in movement will create metaphorical images that will take us into imaginary worlds. This danced manipulation, of matter and body, will play with the juggling of points of view favoring the transformation of universes.
For the narrative framework of this fictional journey carried by Usmar's musical creation, Brahim and Denis will rely on the myth of the labyrinth as a metaphor for the meaning of life, which can symbolize the elevation of the spirit towards knowledge or that of the soul towards spirituality, which allows to get out of the confinement and the absurdity of the human condition.
Between dance, objects and puppets, this new creation is an invitation to travel in the form of a quest for identity.
